Just south of Big Cottonwood Canyon is a dog-friendly trail that combines big spectacular views with a rugged ascent in the Twin Peaks wilderness area. The moderate ascent allows hikers to transcend through four microclimates which vary from season to season and will make you want to return to see how the canyon changes from a cool respite during the summer to an ice castle during the winter months. Unlike some of the more publicized trailheads Ferguson is nestled within a residential area. Like most trails in the Wasatch the higher you go, the more spectacular the views of the city and mountains alike.
